Saturday 9th March
A busy day in the Premier Division saw wins for Glebe, Erith Town, Kennington, Lydd Town, Tunbridge Wells, VCD Athletic and Fisher.
Jamie Philpot scored either side of half-time as leaders Glebe beat Bearsted 2-0 at Foxbury Avenue. The second of those goals was the 1000th in Glebe’s relatively short history – but more importantly it helped move them 3 points clear at the top of the table.
Second-placed Corinthian lost ground as they were held to a goalless draw at home by nine-man Snodland Town, who had Jack Bath and George Monger dismissed for two yellow cards.
In form Erith Town moved three points clear in fifth spot after a 3-1 win at Hollands & Blair. Harry Taylor’s 45th minute opener was levelled by Devonte West’s solo effort in the 75th minute. Ollie Milton restored the lead for Adam Woodward’s men nine minutes from time before Taylor netted with the last kick.
Whitstable Town’s play-off hopes took a massive blow as they lost 4-0 at home to Fisher. Jacob Katonia put the Fish ahead five minutes before half-time and they swept the hosts away in the second half as Flavio Juma, Nathan Tshola and Michael Sarpong all netted.
Tunbridge Wells came from a goal down to beat Lordswood 3-2 at Culverden Stadium. Former Wells favourite Matt Gething gave Lordswood the lead but two Trevor McCreadie goals, either side of Regan Corke’s effort, put Wells 3-1 up and on course for the win.
Elsewhere, Richard Jimoh scored VCD Athletic’s goals as they beat Rusthall 2-0 and Ryan Philpott and Harry Linch fired Kennington to a 2-1 win at Holmesdale.
