It’s Groundhop weekend, and as a result our Premier Division games are spread nicely across the 3 days.
Rusthall were 3-0 winners on the opening night, with the 3 points earned moving them off the bottom of the table.
There were 395 at Snodland for the game and they saw goals from Kalani Barton, Charlie Clover and Robbie Bissett in an impressive display from the Rustics.
Fisher v Faversham Town was the Saturday afternoon offering for the Groundhoppers and a crowd of 423 saw an entertaining game that went the way of the visitors.
It was Fisher that took the lead though, with Courtney Barrington scoring early on but a Tashi-Jay Kwayie double plus Matt Newman effort saw the Lilywhites take the points and keep their unbeaten league run going.
Punjab United have also kept their unbeaten tag intact, as they came away from Whitstable Town as 2-1 victors.
Dean Grant had put Whitstable ahead in the 13th minute before replies from Jack Barry and Cruis Nyadzayo earned second-placed Punjab the points.
Bearsted were the biggest winners of the day with a Michael Hagan hat-trick helping them to a 5-2 home victory over Hollands & Blair.
Hagan’s trio was added to by Adam Turton and Robbie Roberts while Charlie Weston and Harvey Welford got the consolation goals for the visitors.
Glebe are up to 7th place in the table following their 3-1 win against Lordswood at Foxbury.
Paul Lee, Alfie Kitt and Jamie Philpot were each on target for Glebe with Jake Embery grabbing the goal for a Lordswood side slowly sliding down the table.
Second half goals from Jack Mahon and Dario Sesay-De Luca saw Stansfeld make the long trek home from Lydd Town in high spirits.
The Lydders handed Trevor McCreadie his home debut for the club but he went off injured inside 20 minutes and their day only went on to get worse from there.
The only draw of the day came at Oakley Road with Kennington and Holmesdale failing to be separated at 90 minutes.
Kennington twice went ahead, through Ed Miller and Rajan Sahni but replies from Jack Church and Deandre Williams saw the points shared.
On Saturday night the Groundhop headed to Crayford and a date with league leaders VCD Athletic, as they hosted Larkfield & New Hythe.
There were 3 goals and 3 red cards but more importantly 3 points for VCD in a dramatic game.
An Ollie Freeman double helped the Vickers win 2-1 keeping them 7 points clear at the top of the table.
On Sunday morning we headed to Longfield to see Corinthian beat Erith & Belvedere 2-1.
Henry Arnold and Tom Fitzgerald scored early for the hosts, with Dan Parkinson pulling one back for the Deres late on.
We finished the Groundhop in Hextable and for a long time it looked like Sutton Athletic v Tunbridge Wells would finish goalless.
But of course we couldn’t do that to the increased crowd at Lower Road so with late goals from Elias Ahmed and Taylor Fisher, Sutton took the game 2-0.
