The relentless charge of Rochester United continues, as they made it ten wins from ten with a 1-0 victory over FC Elmstead. Hicham Akhazzan struck early in the second half to keep the league leaders perfect and three points clear at the top.
AFC Greenwich Borough remain unbeaten and in second after a dominant 5-0 win over Banstead Athletic. All five goals arrived after the break, with Elliott Carey, Wilfred Evans, Bradley Ryan, Oghosa Williams and Stefan Payne all getting on the scoresheet in a show of squad strength and control.
Also unbeaten are Greenways, who continued their strong form with a 2-1 success at SC Thamesmead. Timmy Babington scored twice – including a penalty inside three minutes – before Abdulai Turay responded late on for the hosts. Greenways are up to 3rd and moving with momentum.
Croydon delivered one of the standout results of the day, ending Tooting Bec’s nine-game unbeaten league run with a convincing 4-1 away victory. Kanan Fitton and Pat Ward struck early, before Cameron Macmillan added two more in the second half. Bec had led through Yunas Emhatsion, but drop to 4th after the defeat.
SE Dons were held 1-1 at home by an in-form Lewisham Borough side who are now unbeaten in five. John Garcia put Lewisham ahead just before the break, but Georgi Steeds equalised late on for the Dons.
There was a significant result at the foot of the table, where Chessington & Hook United recorded their first league win of the season, winning 2-0 away at Welling Town thanks to goals from Lewis Taylor and Athan Smith-Joseph. Chessington remain bottom, but the gap tightens.
Halls AFC also lifted the mood in the bottom two, coming from behind to beat Sheppey Sports 2-1. Jahmal Hector-Ingram gave Sports an early advantage, but Sam Bayford and a Zack Manning penalty turned the match around to end Halls’ seven-game losing run.
The remaining matches finished level. Lordswood stay 6th after a 1-1 draw with Bridon Ropes, while Staplehurst Monarchs and Lydd Town shared a six-goal thriller. Monarchs led through Bradley Webb and Toby Sargeant before Lydd hit back twice late on – Charlie Gill scoring twice, including an 89th-minute equaliser.
