Another day of Premier Division action and another day of twists and turns at both ends of the table, with the leaders dropping points and the basement boys reeling in their closest competitors.
Faversham Town were held to a 2-2 draw by Erith & Belvedere and needed a late leveller to rescue that point. Johan Caney-Bryan gave Faversham an early lead before a double from Tunde Aderonmu swung the match in the Deres favour. That was until Danny Parish came off the bench to score the equaliser in the 87th minute giving the Lilywhites a 2 point cushion at the top.
VCD Athletic remain second and with 2 games in hand over the side above them, today’s win at Larkfield & New Hythe has put the Vickers right back in the hunt for the title. Ollie Freeman got the only goal of the game against a Larks side now clinging on to their play-off place.
Punjab United disrupted the top 3 of the rankings and in doing so removed Fisher from that trio for the first time in over 3 months. Punjab were made to work hard for their win by Hollands & Blair, who went ahead thanks to Joe Thomas’s early opener. Roman Campbell then scored twice while Jack Hopkins netted his 11th league goal of the season before Michael Samson pulled one back for Blair at the death.
Fisher dropped down a spot following a single goal defeat at a rejuvenated Lydd Town. Tyler Sterling scored late for Lydd, who are now level on points with Lordswood and closing in on the pack above the drop zone.
Stansfeld and Snodland Town are both in that pack and after their 1-1 draw today, both are still nervously looking over their shoulder. The two goals came in an action-packed first 5 minutes, with Kane Phillips putting Snodland ahead and Chris Alhassan quickly replying.
The other four games were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
