Welling Town updates

Welling Town Updates ahead of their 2023/24 Premier Division Season

A warm welcome to the vastly experienced due of Neil Hunter and Steve Aldridge who both join to be part of the management team for 23/24. Their attitudes, application, experience and knowledge will be an asset to the club, now, and for the long-term, as we look for greater stability and a longer term approach to progression.

Much has changed in recent months with the huge influx of youth sides and development sides, completely unknown and unexpected in early 2023, as well as a subsequent home ground move as a result, and we must thank the previous regime of Ryan King-Elliott, Junior “JR” James and Bafor Aganbi for their sterling work to dig us out of a huge hole earlier this year. Your time with us may have been short, but your impact was immense, and critical. Thank you.

A new season ahead brings a new home as we’ll move in to the Mayplace Ground, home of Phoenix Sports.

New Signing! – Dom Vincent, formerly of VCD, Erith and Belvedere, Punjab United, Erith Town, Sporting Bengal and most recently Sutton Athletic.

Welcome to Luqman Adesina, an experienced centre-half formerly of Beckenham Town and Bearsted

Welcome Chandler Kasai who joins having most recently been with Punjab United

Welcome to brick outhouse striker Tom Samwell most recently of Chatham and Maidstone’s reserve and academy setups

NEW SIGNING – Confirmed for 23/24, Scott Pethers!

One more? Go on then … Welcome back Joe Smith

SIGNING – Welcome to Harvey Brinkley, formerly of Fisher

He was a mere spectator watching his brother when we won the first division in 18/19, but now he’s back!
Welcome Todd Brand, who spent last year with Lordswood where he made 12 Step 5 appearances at the age of 16. One for the present, and certainly the future.

SIGNING – A pleasing first run out last night was capped by an excellent performance from debutant Harrison Bacon who got the ultimate birthday gift – two goals and an agreement for 23/24. Formerly of Brantham Athletic, Leiston, and a Step 5 winner with Gorleston.

SIGNING – Well pleased with this one. A lot of competition for his signature after a good season last year, a warm welcome Seb Rowland
