Snodland Town 4-1 Kennington
And then there were none.
We started the day with two unbeaten sides in the SCEFL Premier Division but ended it with zero as both VCD Athletic and Faversham Town saw defeat for the first time this league campaign.
For Faversham Town it was a 1-0 reversal at home to Larkfield & New Hythe, with Tyler Ibe getting a late goal while the game at Punjab United for VCD was much more eventful.
Goals from Jack Hopkins, Wayne Bushell and Tarik Ibrahim helped Punjab race into a three goal lead but when Hopkins got sent off that signalled a VCD comeback. Rob Burton and Richard Jimoh each scored but the hosts held on to the win and as a result the scene at the top of the table is a tighter one.
Fisher are firmly part of that scene. They leapt over Holmesdale into 4th place with a 2-0 win at Oakley Road, thanks to first half efforts from Tyron Mbuenimo and Courtney Barrington.
At the other end of the table Lydd Town remain at the bottom following their 2-1 loss at Bearsted. Sam Stace’s opener for the Bears was quickly cancelled out by an overhead kick from Ryan Philpott before Jesse Darko netted a last minute penalty winner.
One place above Lydd are Kennington, who lost 4-1 at Snodland Town. Nathan Jeche claimed a hat-trick for Snodland in the win with Kaelem Sobhee-Turner getting the other.
Conor Evans got the only goal as Sutton Athletic won 1-0 at Lordswood. The win moves Sutton above the Lords who have now dropped down to 17th place.
We await the Referee’s report regarding the abandoned game between Glebe and Erith & Belvedere.
