Saturday January 14th
A reduced fixture list of 5 First Division games gave us 16 goals, one draw and wins for SC Thamesmead, Greenways, Bridon Ropes and Forest Hill Park.
Larkfield & New Hythe missed the chance to hit the top of the table after defeat at SC Thamesmead.
The Larks only needed a point to reach the summit but an inspired performance from the hosts, and second half goals from Jordan Samuels and Jesse Sentamu, saw the Acre win 2-0.
Greenways are up to 4th following their 3-2 victory at Bermondsey Town.
Goals from James Austin, Jake Lovell and Farai Manganga were just enough to extend Bermondsey’s losing run to 17 games.
Bridon Ropes won the ‘Groundsharers Derby’ with Meridian VP 2-0.
VP were looking to make it 7 wins on the spin but Bridon prevented that from happening with both Jack Kirby and Manny Oshinowo finding the net.
A last minute Ryan Penton goal saw Forest Hill Park win 2-1 against Croydon at the Ladywell Arena.
The Trams took a first half lead through Richard Pingling then Tyreece Webb levelled after the break before Penton’s goal earned Forest Hill a much-needed 3 points.
AFC Whyteleafe and Lydd Town drew 2-2.
Gasper Mico and Daniel Adjei netted for Whyteleafe with Richard Atkins and Timmy Babington scoring for Lydd Town.
