Faversham Town narrowed the gap on the league leaders, Glebe, to just one point following an impressive 8-0 victory over Stansfeld.
Stefan Payne, the division’s leading goal-scorer, added to his tally with a brace, one of which came from the penalty spot. Defender Matt Newman also scored twice. The other goals, in front of a 257-strong crowd, were provided by right-back Josh Vincent, midfielder Sam Hasler, captain Connor Essam, and substitute Jefferson Aibangbee.
Glebe suffered a 3-1 defeat to resurgent Deal Town. Steve King’s Hoops had a 1-0 lead at halftime, with Rory Smith winning and Aaron Millbank converting a penalty. Smith went on to score two more goals in the second half, while Glebe could only manage a late consolation in front of 108 at Foxbury.
Welling Town secured their second league victory of the season, with a late late show at Whitstable Town. Boots striker Marcus Elliott open the scoring. However, Josh Williams, who won and converted a penalty, and striker Harvey Smith, looked to have won it for the hosts. In the dying moments of the game, Elliott equalized, and Perez Goumou scored the decisive fifth goal.
Lordswood collected a 1-0 victory over Tunbridge Wells, with an own goal on the brink of half time deciding the match.
All other scheduled games were postponed due to the bad weather.
