League leaders VCD rebounded from their first defeat of the season, beating Kennington 4-2 at home. Goals from Lee Bird and Bethel Gboda, along with an Ollie Freeman double, gave the Vickers a commanding 4-0 lead at halftime. Although Kennington responded with goals from Adam Phillips and captain Tom Scorer, it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.
Faversham also bounced back from a midweek loss, defeating Stansfeld 3-1 in front of 349 fans at Salters Lane to move into second place. Johan Caney-Bryan scored just two minutes in, and after an equalizer from Ibrahim Barrie, he struck again early in the second half. Tashi-Jay Kwayie later added Faversham’s third.
Third-place Punjab slipped up with a 4-1 loss to second-bottom Lydd. Jack Hopkins put Punjab ahead by halftime, but they were reduced to ten men after Jordan Campbell’s red card, allowing Lydd to capitalize with goals from Sam Adams, Ronnie Dolan, Stefan Payne, and substitute Tom Walmsley.
Defender Tom Fitzgerald scored a hat-trick to lead Corinthian to a 4-1 victory over Snodland in the Southern Counties East Premier Division on Saturday. Forward Henry Arnold opened the scoring for Michael Golding’s side in the ninth minute, only for Nathan Jeche to level the score for Snodland with a penalty. Fitzgerald then took control, netting once before halftime and twice more after the break to secure the win, leaving Corinthian in fifth place.
Larkfield & New Hythe’s Matt Day scored late to earn a 1-1 draw at Holmesdale. Whitstable secured a 2-0 victory over Tunbridge Wells with goals from Harvey Smith and Josh Oliver, while Glebe defeated Hollands & Blair 4-0, courtesy of Daniel Vaughan, Paul Lee, Jamie Philpot, and substitute Red Jenkins.
Bearsted had a tough day, losing 3-0 to Erith & Belvedere. Ladic Melconian opened the scoring, with Joe Chalker and Dieko Falade adding goals in the second half.
Rusthall clinched a dramatic 4-3 win over Lordswood. Despite first-half goals from Yassin Fares and Jack Lyons for Lordswood, and red cards for Jake Embery and Louis Anderson, Rusthall’s Elliott Duncan scored twice, and Bradley Schafer added a third. Kalani Barton equalized at the end of regulation, and Fares’ second goal in stoppage time sealed the victory for Rusthall.
