ROY VINTER RESPECT CHARITY SHIELD

The League are pleased to announce that the 2023/24 season will be officially opened by the Roy Vinter Respect Charity Shield.

The game between Larkfield & New Hythe and Glebe on Saturday, July 29 will pit the two teams at the top of last seasons respective divisional respect tables against each other at Larkfield’s Taray Group Community Stadium, with a 3pm kick-off.

To highlight the league’s increased desire to promote respect, good behaviour and fair play, the word respect has been added to the name of the shield.

The winners of the game will receive the league’s top respect prize for the 2022/23 season with the losing team picking up a ‘consolation’ award.

As well as the match between Division 1 Larkfield and Premier Division Glebe on July 29, there will also be a programme of Premier Division fixtures. The Division 1 season gets under way on August 5.

Roy Vinter was a long-serving secretary-treasurer of the league, initially joining the management committee of the then-Kent League in 1980. He passed away in 2014.
