Premier Division – 4th December
Our full Premier Division fixture list gave us 41 goals today, from 6 Away and 3 Home wins, plus a 0-0 draw!
The big match was a real game of two halves while Chatham Town, Crowborough Athletic and Deal Town went goal crazy on the road.
Holm Park hosted the top of the table clash where visitors Glebe raced into a 3-0 advantage by the break, only for them to see Sheppey United peg them back in the second 45 minutes.
Jamie Philpot headed the first early on before Ryan King Elliott made it 2-0 on 24 minutes. Philpot added a fine third, giving The Foxes a decent lead at the half way mark.
Sheppey were not going to give up their unbeaten league record easily though. Especially not to a promotion rival.
Liam Gillies got their first back into the game and Ashley Sains reduced the deficit further around the hour mark.
Jefferson Aibangbee completed the comeback with 10 to play and Sheppey even had chances to win it before the final whistle was blown.
With both dropping points, Chatham Town’s big win at Tower Hamlets has seen them divide this pair with the 3 of them looking to be the ones best positioned to compete for the 2 promotion places on offer this season.
The Chats hot 10 against the struggling basement boys Hamlets.
It was 7-o by the break with the double-figure end result including hat-tricks for Jack Evans and Dan Bradshaw.
Jacob Lambert went one better by scoring 4 for Crowborough at Lordswood.
Lucas Murrain got the other 2 and with their 5th win in a row, The Crows are top 7.
At Oakley Road Erith Town were 2-1 winners against Holmesdale.
The Dockers are well placed inside the top 4 and have now opened up a decent gap on the sides below them.
Today’s goals came from Michael Power and Alfie Eldridge, while Nathan Palmer was once again on target for The Dale.
There were narrow 1-0 victories for Welling Town at Canterbury City and Kennington at home to Fisher.
Liam Middleton got the Kennington goal while Adebola Sotoyinbo netted a last minute winner for a rejuvenated Welling side.
Deal Town were 4-0 winners at Rusthall and Erith & Belvedere won 4-2 at K Sports.
There were 4 different scorers for both sides with Deal now occupying 5th place and The Deres just one behind in 6th.
Will Johnson-Cole scored a double as Punjab United beat Bearsted 3-1.
His brace came either side of a Jordon Ababio leveller while Dan Flemming put the game to bed for the hosts mid-way through the second half.
We also had our second goalless game of the season with Tunbridge Wells and Hollands & Blair drawing 0-0.
