Pre-Season Friendlies – 2025/26
Ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Season our SCEFL sides are busy with their friendly fixtures, preparing their players for another exciting year ahead.

Staplehurst Monarchs 2-0 Little Common
With goals from Toby Sergeant and Omar El-Mantawy, Staplehurst Monarchs won 2-0 against Little Common while Croydon drew 2-2 with Corinthian Casuals. Cameron MacMillan got the first Trams goal before Liam Spellward added a penalty prior to a second-half Casuals comeback.

With time running out before the season start, Tuesday night was a busy one for our SCEFL sides.
Rusthall gained the most eye-catching result as they saw off Ramsgate 3-2 at Jockey Farm. By the same scoreline Corinthian surprised Margate, with Tommy Mitcham, Dolapo Oladipupo and Akash Santhosh on target for the Hoops.
Chislehurst Glebe were big winners against Kent United as were Holmesdale at Horley – both SCEFL sides won 5-1.
Stansfeld were impressive in a 4-1 win at Rochester United while Bearsted were 3-2 winners at Cuxton.
Sheppey Sports and SC Thamesmead both drew 1-1 in home games and it was 2-2 between Lordswood and Herne Bay u23s.
A late Harry Taylor winner saw Erith Town lift the Martin Tarrant trophy, denying Erith & Belvedere some silverware.
Punjab United suffered a heavy loss against Sheppey United and Lydd Town were beaten 3-0 at Tenterden.
Monday 21st July

A comprehensive win for SE Dons against their Kent County League opponents. Georgi Steeds grabbed a late hat-trick while Temi Alaka, Aaron Watson and Joedon Cowin each scored twice, with Zak Ansah rounding off the scoring.

For some of our sides this was their last friendly fixture before the real stuff kicks-off on Saturday.
Phoenix Sports go into the new season off the back of a strong showing at home to Romford. Jerson Dos Santos claimed a hat-trick for Phoenix in a 4-0 win meaning they go to Hollands & Blair next week in good shape.
Stansfeld came out best in an 9-goal thriller with Falconwood. A Sam Plant hat-trick, brace for Obinna Igwe and Jimmy Shepherds’s goal earned the big win for Billy Shinners side.
There were 10 goals in the match between Sheppey Sports and Cuxton with our SCEFL side scoring 7 of them! Jack Marsh had earned the match-ball inside the opening 16 minutes as Sheppey and their Kent County League visitors played out an entertaining affair on the Island.
In other high-scoring games, Lordswood beat New Romney 6-2, Whitstable Town won 3-2 against Redhill, Hythe Town lost 7-2 at Herne Bay, Croydon won 3-2 at Horsham YMCA, SC Thamesmead lost 4-0 against Ilford – and in all SCEFL matches, Bearsted beat Rochester United 4-1 and FC Elmstead won by the same scoreline against Sutton Athletic.
In their first game at their new Chatham Town home, SE Dons took on Step 3 side Ramsgate. Zak Ansah gave the Dons a surprise lead, but Ramsgate came on strong in the second half and took the game 3-1.
Against recent former SCEFL sides, Rusthall beat Crowborough Athletic by a single goal, Corinthian went down 2-0 to VCD Athletic and Erith & Belvedere and Beckenham Town finished goalless.
Elsewhere, Welling Town won 2-1 at Cinque Ports, Staplehurst Monarchs came from behind to beat Borden Village, Snodland Town won 4-2 against a young Cray Wanderers side, Kennington lost to their landlords Ashford United, Greenwich Borough beat their landlords Holmesdale, Greenways drew at Kings Hill and Glebe were beaten 2-1 by Raynes Park Vale.

Snodland Town 3-0 Maidstone Utd XI
Snodland Town were 3-0 winners against a side from Maidstone United on Thursday night. Harry Hudson, Harry Harding and Asanti Amoah got the goals for Snodland, who are warming up nicely ahead of the sesason start.
Despite taking an early lead, FC Elmstead lost out to Erith Town while the score was unknown between SC Thamesmead and Stansfeld O&B.

There were some high scoring games involving our SCEFL sides on Wednesday night with all four in action picking up wins, mostly against Kent County League opposition.
Welling Town beat Farnborough Old Boys Guild 5-0 with young striker Jordan Adeji netting a first half hat-trick. Leo Onye added a second half double as the Boots continued with their fine pre-season form.
Greenways were 4-1 victors over Rochester City. Michael Paton, George Wady, Aston Freeman, Harry Elaer got the goals for Greenways, who are looking in good shape two weeks out from the season start.
SE Dons were found the net easy to find at Flamingo Park, where they collected a 7-1 win over Bexley FC. The Dons next play Ramsgate in what is their first game at their new Bauvill Stadium home.
SCEFL new boys Banstead Athletic rounded off a good night of preparations for our teams with a 2-0 win against a Corinthian Casuals Development Team.

Rochester United and Punjab United each picked up 4-1 pre-season wins against SCEFL opposition.
For Rochester, Mack Reilly was again among the goals as they beat Kennington while Harnak Cheema netted twice for Punjab against Bridon Ropes.
In the other all-SCEFL matches, Harry Smart got the only goal as Phoenix Sports won at Lordswood, Will Dempsey found a late winner for Hythe Town at Sheppey Sports while Holmesdale and Croydon played out a 1-1 draw.
In games against Isthmian League sides, Joe Healey scored a stunning late winner for Whitstable Town against Margate, Sutton Athletic beat Beckenham Town, Hollands & Blair lost 4-1 at home to Sittingbourne, Stansfeld went down 3-0 to Erith Town and Lewes beat Corinthian 4-0.
Fisher continued their fine pre-season form with a 2-0 win over Wembley, new signing Jack Low netted a nice goal as Rusthall beat a young Aldershot Town team 5-1 and Lydd Town beat the Hastings u23s 2-0.

Most of our SCEFL sides were in action today as closed in on the start of the 2025/26 Season.
In Chislehurst, Glebe gave a debut to their new home pitch – and fittingly Jamie Philpot scored the first goal on it. Liam Spellward levelled for the Trams who went on to take the game 2-1.
In the other all-SCEFL matches, Snodland Town beat FC Elmstead 4-1, with former Golden Boot winner Harry Harding finding the net for the victors while it was 3-1 to Sutton Athletic at Bridon Ropes. Corinthian drew 1-1 with Greenways. Aston Freeman levelling Austin Smart’s opener for the Hoops.
In the very first Ernie Batten Cup Sheppey United lifted the trophy by seeing off our own Sheppey Sports 4-2. Joel Wakefield got the first for Sports in what is to be an annual event on the island.
Stansfeld and Rochester United both picked up nice 4-0 victories. Stansfeld’s came against AFC Croydon, with Jack Calvert, Ollie Andrews, Jimmy Shepherd and Chris Alhassan all on target. For Rochester, Jack Nelson, Mack Reilly and Hicham Akhazzan were among the goals against Lingfield.
With goals from Ahkeem Belford and Will Efambe, Phoenix Sports won 2-0 at Hythe Town, Isaac Hadlow got the only goal as Hythe Town beat Ashford United, Tunbridge Wells beat Crawley Down Gatwick 3-1 and Rusthall were 3-0 winners at home to Chipstead.
Nathan Palmer and Lewis Heywood scored for Holmesdale in defeat to Raynes Park Vale while Chibueze Innocent scored 2 of Fisher’s 3 against Welling United. Lorenzo Duncan got the other but it still wasn’t enough to avoid defeat against the Wings.
A large Punjab United contingent travelled all the way to Sporting Khalsa today and saw their side share the honours with the West Midlands side. Toch Singh and Alfie Moynes were on target for Punjab.
Today also saw a debut win for AFC Greenwich Borough, against Guru Nanak, and a single goal victory for Larkfield & New Hythe at home to Cuxton.
Tommy Whitnell and Tyller Davis-Whitlock scored for Erith & Belvedere in a 2-0 win at Aylesford, Faversham Strikeforce drew at our recently departed-SCEFL side Meridian VP, and Banstead Athletic v Met Police Reserves finished 3-3.
Kennington went down 1-0 at Erith Town, Bearsted 2-0 at Abbey Rangers and SC Thamesmead lost 4-2 to their new u23s venture they share with Erith Town. Sevenoaks Town overcame SE Dons 5-2.

In the Friday Night Friendly Football, Welling Town came from a 2-0 half-time deficit to beat Welling Town 3-2. Harry Beech got two of the goals for the Boots, Jedd Smith got the other.
At the Belmont, Whitstable Town were 4-1 winners over a Gillingham Academy side. Will Thomas, Bradley Schafer, Ashdon Day and Callum Peck scored the Whitstable goals.
Thursday 10th July

On Thursday night Bearsted were big winners at the Gallagher Stadium against Maidstone’s u23 side.

Halls AFC 4-3 Barkingside
Larkfield & New Hythe 1-3 Sevenoaks Town
Only two of our sides were involved in pre-season action on Wednesday night but there were plenty of goals, including 4 for Halls against Barkingside. Halls were 2-0 down early on in Dartford but after Ryan Golding pulled the first back, the goals flowed for our First Division outfit as they earned a decent win.
In the other game former SCEFL Champions Sevenoaks Town beat Larkfield & New Hythe 3-1.

A busy Tuesday night of Friendly Action included a crowd of 620 turning up to watch the ‘Steve Cook Cup’ game between Punjab United and Ebbsfleet. In an entertaining match it was Punjab that took the honours, mostly thanks to a Roman Campbell hat-trick.
In the all-SCEFL games, Kennington won 4-0 at Lydd Town, Holmesdale beat FC Elmstead 2-0 and Harry Day netted 2 of Erith & Belvedere’s 6 against Lewisham Borough. It was goalless between Tunbridge Wells and AFC Greenwich Borough.
Chislehurst Glebe made a second-half comeback to earn a draw at AFC Whyteleafe, Snodland Town won 3-1 at a young Herne Bay side and Banstead were hit for 6 in their opening pre-season game at Sheerwater.
Against Ishtmian South East opposition, Sutton Athletic lost 3-0 at Erith Town, it was 4-0 to Deal Town at Hythe Town, the same scoreline to Ramsgate against Faversham Strike Force and Ashford United came back from a half time deficit to beat Whitstable Town.
Elsewhere, it was a single goal loss for Phoenix Sports at Barking and an impressive 3-2 win for Bridon Ropes over at Lingfield, which included goals for Manny Oshinowo and Eman Bestman. Tooting Bec were 2-1 victors against Tooting & Mitcham.
Monday 7th July

Sheppey Sports 6-2 Sheppey United u23s
A strong second half saw Sheppey Sports earn a big win over a young Sheppey United side. With the score 2-2 at the break, doubles from George Acland and Corey Spencer secored the wide-margin victory.
A first loss of a busy early pre-season for Fisher came at Aveley tonight, with the Fish going down 3-2 to the Isthmian Premier Division side. Fisher’s goals in the defeat came from Omari Williams and Eden Deh.
Sunday 6th July

Kennington came from behind to win late at home to SE Dons. Half an hour in the Dons took the lead but a quick reply saw Kennington draw level before they won the game shortly after a second-half thunderstorm caused a short delay to the action.

Most of our sides got their pre-season campaigns underway today as preparations continued for a new season start that is now less than a month away.
It’s not all about results at this stage of course but Whitstable Town’s win at Sheppey United is an eye-catching one while the 3-3 draw between Halls and Erith & Belvedere looked very entertaining – especially the first half which contained all 6 goals!
Elsewhere, Jerson Dos Santos scored twice for Phoenix Sports, in a narrow defeat to Sittingbourne and Ross Penrose set Greenways on the way t a 3-1 win over Stansfeld’s Kent County side.
Rusthall’s 1-0 defeat at Ramsgate looks as positive as any defeat can while Fisher continued a promising start to their warm-up, with Jacob Katonia scoring twice in a win against Redhill.
The newly-named Chislehurst Glebe unveiled their new identity before sending out a First Team that won 3-0 against a younger Glebe squad – that ended with a few ‘older’ and more recognisable faces as the game progressed.
Friday 4th July
Cray Wanderers XI 1-4 Sutton Athletic
Stansfeld 2-2 Lordswood AFC
Welling Town 4-3 Romford
On Friday night, Sutton Athletic headed to Flamingo Park to take on a young Cray Wanderers side. The game finished 4-1 to Sutton and included a spot kick goal from Conor Evans.
Goals in either half from Sam Plant and Harvey Mead helped Stansfeld to a 2-2 draw with Lordswood while Welling Town edged out Romford in a 7-goal thriller.
Wednesday 2nd July
On Wednesday night, Fisher travelled to Dagenham to take on Cannons Wood and came away as 5-1 winners. Flávio Jumo, Festos Kamara (x2), Alfawaz Dada and Omari Williams scored for a Fisher side keen to build on what was a impressive season for them last time out.
Thanks to goals from Brad Schafer, Javaun Splatt and Nico Cotton, Whitstable Town picked up a 3-1 win against Sheppey Sports while Erith & Belvedere saw off fellow SCEFL side Welling Town 4-1, with Ronnie McClean, Ladic Melconian, Luca Sanford and a Trialist all on target for the Deres.
Tuesday 1st July
Punjab United were among those taking part in the first day of pre-season games as they hosted Greenways in very hot conditions in Gravesend. Our Premier Division side will be pleased with their efforts as they ran out 3-0 winners in a ‘convincing and commanding performance’ with Ashley Probets, Jayden Hussain and Alfie Moynes all finding the net. Two goal of the season contenders were scored in the drawn match between Glebe and Halls AFC. Gergo Petrovics spotted the keeper of the line to net from the half-way line for Halls, replying to a thunderbolt of an effort that opened the scoring for Glebe.
Sutton Athletic returned from Lingfield with a 2-1 victory, Hollands & Blair went down 2-0 at Chatham Town and Kennington were beaten 3-1 by Herne Bay.
In a behind-closed-doors friendly, Croydon won 3-0 against Beckenham Town, Kiarn Asafu-Adjaye claimed one and Mr A Trialist grabbed the other two.
Jordan Patterson’s second half strike gave Stansfeld a 1-0 win against FC Elmstead and Tunbridge Wells ran-out 3-1 victors against Jarvis Brook.
