It was a second defeat this campaign for Lordswood who now need to rally ahead of an FA Cup tie this weekend.

Match Report from Deal Town

Having seen Saturday’s opening SCEFL game against Chatham abandoned at half time Deal travelled to Lordswood on Tuesday where they managed pick up three points with a comfortable 3-0 victory in Medway. As they did on Saturday Deal started brightly and took an early lead after Sam Wilson did well to swivel in the box and finish from 6 yards out.
The visitors went on to dominate the remainder of the first half but were unable to take any of the chances they created with Troy Howard being a constant threat to the home defence. The best chance coming from an Alfie Foster header which went just over the bar.
The home side started the second half brightly but Deal took control after they scored their second goal in the 58th minute. An excellent Macca Murray free kick found the head of Billy Munday who rose highest to head home. The away side managed to control the remainder of the game and got a third goal in the 80th minute after excellent work from Sam Wilson saw him lay the ball to Munday who smashed it home from 18 yards for his second of the game.
Steve King commented ‘This was a good performance from the whole team and we are happy to get our first three points on the board. It was good to keep a clean sheet and although there are still areas we can improve on it was a good night. We are now all looking forward to the FA Cup on Saturday’.
