Ups and Downs

Here is a quick summary of the promoted and relegated teams from the 2022/23 season and how it could affect our league in the next campaign.

Promoted from the SCEFL Premier Division are the Champions, Erith & Belvedere and Play Off Winners, Phoenix Sports.

Congratulations to those two teams who have now taken their place in the Isthmian South East Division.

Replacing them from Step 4 are the relegated trio of Faversham Town, Corinthian and VCD Athletic.

Relegated from the Premier Division are Canterbury City and K Sports.

Promoted from the SCEFL First Division are Champions Snodland Town and Play Off Winners Lydd Town.

The FA have released the Constitution and, subject to FA Council ratification, we will have a 21 team Premier Division that is expected to kick off on Saturday 29th August.

Our First Division will line-up with just 16 sides.

Unfortunately no teams were in a position to be promoted from the Feeder Leagues and none received any lateral movement.

Bermondsey Town were relgated but SC Thamesmead were reprieved due to the low numbers.

The First Division season is expected to get under way on Saturday, August 5.

Sheppey United u23s have won the inaugral SCEFL Development League.

Next season we are planning for a two-division regional development league following this seasons successful trial.

Looking ahead to next season, fixtures are likely to be published in mid-July, but they cannot be done until after the Isthmian League produce their lists due to groundshares.

Once again, congratulations to all clubs tasting success this year and good luck to those leaving us for their new adventures.
