The Run In – First Division
We have reached the business end of the 2024/25 season, the final week, soon it will be all over and we will know the promoted and relegated sides from the SCFEL First Division.
Here we take a closer look at the current situation and what is left to play for, at both ends of the table.
PROMOTION
The Champions will be promoted to Step 6 plus the winners of the play-off between the teams that finish in positions 2,3,4,5.
Where a Club finishes in a Play Off Position but does not meet the Criteria for participation in the Play Offs, the Club finishing in the next eligible position shall take part in the Play Off Matches.
It’s tight at the top of the First Division with the title race going down to the final day!
The battle for the title is between Forest Hill Park, Faversham Strike Force and Soul Tower Hamlets with Croydon also in with an outside chance of finishing top.
Sheppey Sports will join whichever 3 of those sides that don’t finish top in the play-offs with the winner of that competition also getting promoted to Step 5.
REMAINING GAMES
Forest Hill Park – Clapton CFC (A)
Faversham Strike Force – SC Thamesmead (H)
Soul Tower Hamlets – Bridon Ropes (A)
Croydon – Canterbury City (H)
Sheppey Sports – FC Elmstead (H)
RELEGATION
The teams finishing in the bottom 3 places are liable to relegation.
*With Canterbury City making it known of their intention to seek voluntary relegation, they will be placed bottom of the table for relegation reasons only, meaning that just the bottom two teams in the standard table will now be liable for relegation.
The relegation places in the table are now confirmed although the Canterbury City situation plus the way the FA handles reprieves mean that we will not know the officially-relegated sides until around mid-May.
Canterbury are certain to drop a level and they could possibly be joined by Meridian VP and Welling Town.
