Meridian VP mean business this year!

Meridian VP are keen to bounce back from a poor season last time and have shown their intent with their squad reveal this week.

Keen to compete at the top end this year the club have named the first 19 players that have made it into their squad and given us a few words about the new recruits.

Billy Hensman – Keeper, formerly at Fisher and Erith & Belvedere.

Jerome Richards – ‘Mr Box-to-Box’. The Club are very pleased to have clinched his signature.

Joe Richardson – ‘The Technician’, quality on the ball.

Alpha Bah – Centre-Back, keen to make it to the top.

Bradley Pyke – Keeper, will be putting pressure on the current No 1.

Ahmed Bangura – ‘left-back’, classy and a threat.

Theo Baffoe – Fomer Met Police attacker has also played for SC Thamesmead.

Daniel Akin – ‘Centre-Back’, attackers will not like him.

Toyeeb Babatunde – Striker, scored twice in the first pre-season game. Former Fisher man.

Micah Banton – Centre-Midfielder, impressed with his composure during the trials.

Ryan Minott – Loves grabbing the goals.

Scotty Taylor – Winger, popular around the SCEFL for many years.

Brandon Hobbs – ‘The playmaker’, the shining light from last season.

Tyrone Headley – Skilful winger. Will give defenders a headache.

Dewain West – ‘Kozzie’, Attacking threat, often on the scoresheet.

Tim Moffatt – ‘Captain, Leader, Legend’, former Glebe and Fisher midfielder.

Stefan Jones – Winger, Impressive in pre-season games.

Orrin Jolley – Defender, has been playing in Spain at a decent level for a while.

Jonathon Boateng – Full-Back, young with lots of potential.

Alfie Collins – Striker, Ex-Fisher youngster.

Kevanaugh Thompson – Striker, experienced and strong.

Tom Marle – Centre-back, formerly at Crockenhill.

The squad played their first Pre-season friendly last night and ran out 5-1 winners over Welling Town u23s. Toyeeb Babatunde x2, Kozzie, Joe Richardson and Jerome Richards with the goals.

Further additions to this line-up are expected later this week.
