Premier Division Midweek Football
We had four Premier Division on Tuesday night and once again they provided us with lots of entertainment and plenty of goals.
Sheppey United raced out of the traps at Punjab United and were 2-0 up in the opening 8 minutes, thanks to Jack Midson and Junior Aikhionbare.
Chandler Kasai then pulled one back for the hosts who were soon reduced to 10 men when keeper Max Ovenden got sent off.
Billy Bennett added a third for Sheppey in the second half but despite pressing hard for a 4th the Punjab defence held firm.
The 3 points put Sheppey United on top of the table.
Kennington made it back-to-back victories with a 3-2 win at home to Canterbury City.
Liam Middleton netted a double for the Ton with Gary Lockyer adding the other, they now sit in 4th place.
Remell Grieson and Adam Turton were the scorers for City.
There were impressive away wins for Deal Town and Holmesdale too, with Rory Ward getting the only goal of the game for the Dale at Tunbridge Wells while Jack Paxman and Billy Munday scored for Deal at Hollands & Blair.
Tonight all eyes are on Erith as the Stadium hosts the derby clash between ‘The Dockers‘ and ‘The Deres‘. Each have made strong starts to the season and will aim for that to continue with the added benefit of also picking up local bragging rights.
