Despite the awful weather conditions in the South East today 9 games went ahead and from them 38 goals were scored and 7 teams picked up those precious 3 points.
Glebe were defeated for the first time in the league this season as they left the Charles Sports Ground empty handed after a 3-0 loss to Deal Town.
Rene Rivera, Alfie Foster and Joe Reeves all scored for the ‘Hoops’ in the second half strengthening their 3rd position in the table and closing the gap on today’s beaten opponents at the top.
Sheppey United are now level with Glebe and are the only Premier Division side yet to lose as they beat Welling Town 3-2 at the new-look Efes Stadium.
Jack Midson netted a double for the ‘Ites’ including a late penalty, his 6th and the league goals of this young campaign.
Holmesdale are the surprise package of the season so far, with today’s win at home to Lordswood helping them up to 4th place in the table.
Victor Aiyelabola, Owen Punselie and Nathan Palmer all scored for the Dale in a 3-0 victory.
Two games finished all-square at 2-2 with Bearsted drawing with Erith & Belvedere and Canterbury City equalising late at home to Erith Town.
The Bears were 2-0 up early doors before Drew Allassani and Calum McGeehan scored to earn the ‘Deres’ a point.
Erith Town were down at the break but goals from Taylor McDonagh and Alfie Eldridge put them ahead and on course for the win.
Canterbury City had other ideas though and when Rob Lawrence popped up with a last minute leveller, the points were shared.
Chatham Town left it late too, with Chris Lawal getting the only goal of their game with Fisher in the dying stages. The Chats are now in 6th place with games in hand on all of those above.
Kennington were the top scorers of the day as they hit 5 of the 8 goals seen at the Jockey Farm Stadium today.
Gary Lockyer made it 10 for the league season as he hit another hat-trick while James Haylock-Ashdown and Robbie Dolan also found the net against bottom-placed Rusthall.
Hollands & Blair won 4-1 at home against Crowborough Athletic.
Darren Cooper, Louis Valencia, Billy Lewins and Ben Brown each got on the scoresheet for Blair who now find themselves in 12th place in the table.
K Sports continued their fine run by claiming their 3rd success in a row to move nicely inside the top half.
Max Morgan’s goal proved to be the difference in a 5-goal vlassic with Tower Hamlets at Cobdown.
