Saturday 17th September
There may have only been 5 Premier Division games today but there was plenty of action and plenty of goals, 24 to be exact, as the contenders to the crown made attempts to close in on the early pacesetters Erith & Belvedere.
Deal Town were the biggest winners of the day as they saw off Holmesdale 5-0 at the Charles Ground.
All goals came in the second half for 3rd-placed Deal and from 5 different players too, with Alfie Foster, Ben Chapman, Riley Alford, Rory Smith and Connor Coyne all on target.
There were also 5 goals from 5 scorers in the game between Whitstable Town and Rusthall with the hosts coming out on top at the Belmont Stadium.
Louie Clarke responded a Josh Oliver opener before Will Thomas gave Whitstable a half-time lead. That advantage was extended by James Jeffrey and although Dwan Archer pulled one back for the ‘Rustics’ in was the ‘Oystermen’ that took the points and now sit in 4th position.
Glebe won for the first time in 5 games to move inside the top half of the table.
Jamie Philpot was once again on target for the foxes, as were Ross Craig and debutant Marcel McDonald in a 3-1 victory against Rusthall.
There were also two high-scoring draws today.
Seb Rowland netted a hat-trick for Canterbury City in a 3-3 draw with Erith Town.
The Dockers were 3-1 down with half-an-hour to play but thanks to goals from Alfie Eldridge and Jason Goodchild they earned a point.
Tunbridge Wells and Hollands & Blair shared the spoils at the Culverden Stadium.
In a game that finished 2-2, Trevor McCreadie and Matt Astle scored for the hosts while Frankie Smith and Rob Gillman netted for Blair.
