Seven matches, seven winners — and Rochester United and AFC Greenwich Borough continue to set the standard at the top of the First Division.
Rochester made it 12 wins from 12, but they were made to wait until stoppage time to see off Croydon. Liam Wilkins was the hero, striking late to keep their perfect record intact.
AFC Greenwich Borough remain their closest challengers, also grinding out a 1-0 victory at Tooting Bec. Stefan Payne grabbed the decisive goal just before half-time to ensure Borough stay eight points clear of SE Dons in third.
Lewisham Borough and Banstead Athletic both also secured narrow 1-0 wins that could prove vital come spring.
Sineen Sineen’s effort gave Lewisham a priceless three points against bottom side Chessington & Hook, while Jensen Allchurch netted for Banstead to condemn Welling Town to defeat.
The day’s biggest individual performance came from Fraser Page, who fired all four goals in FC Elmstead’s 4-1 win away at SC Thamesmead. Abdulai Turay notched the consolation for the hosts.
Elsewhere, Lordswood got the better of Greenways with a brace from Harvey Welford, and Sheppey Sports claimed a tidy 2-0 victory at Bridon Ropes, thanks to goals from D’Jean Spencer and Callum Peck.
Another high-scoring, hard-fought afternoon in the First Division — and Rochester United march on, still flawless and still flying.
The action this weekend wasn’t restricted to just Saturday as Sunday afternoon played it’s part by hosting Halls AFC v Lydd Town.
All the goals in this one came in the first half as Halls earned a 3-1 win, with Sam Bayford netting twice and Gergo Petrovics adding the other. The win moves Halls up to 11th while Lydd, who scored through Charlie Gill, remain in the drop zone.
