A rain-soaked Saturday wiped out a chunk of the schedule, but the First Division still delivered goals, shocks and an upset at the top end of the table.
AFC Greenwich Borough looked on course to go top after Abel Vendrells Parcerisa struck midway through the first half against Croydon. But the Trams flipped the script late on, super-sub Pat Ward bagging an equaliser on 70 minutes before snatching a 90th-minute winner — a huge result for seventh-placed Croydon and a gut-punch for Borough.
Lordswood continue their climb, rising to fourth after a professional 3–0 win over Staplehurst Monarchs. The visitors’ day nosedived early when Sammy Swift saw red on 21 minutes, and Lordswood made the extra man count late on. Nathaniel Murray, Tadiwanashe Nago and Rameses Meseorisa all struck in a ruthless 10-minute burst to seal it.
SC Thamesmead produced the most emphatic performance of the day, cruising to a 5–0 win at struggling Lydd Town. Wale Odedoyin and George Dennis had Mead two up inside ten minutes, before Jamie Williams, a second for Dennis and a stoppage-time finish from Chris Loko wrapped up a vital victory. The result lifts Thamesmead out of the drop zone; Lydd’s winless run now stands at 11.
At Meridian, Bridon Ropes and Welling Town put on the division’s wildest game — seven goals, a comeback and a hat-trick hero. Jack Church scored three times for the hosts, with Taylor Fisher also on target in a 4–3 win that bumps Ropes up to 12th. Welling, who had led early through Harry Beech, slip to 16th.
The remaining action produced two clean 2–0 home wins. FC Elmstead made it three victories on the spin by seeing off Lewisham Borough thanks to quick-fire goals from Alfie Sanders and Joshua Fill early in the second half. Sheppey Sports matched the scoreline against Banstead Athletic, with David Latunde and Alex Barnes securing a result that nudges Sheppey into the top ten.
A messy fixture list, but no shortage of talking points — and at both ends of the table, things are getting spicy.
