There was no shortage of entertainment in the First Division either, with 34 goals flying in across eight matches. Leaders Rochester United made it 11 wins from 11 thanks to an 87th-minute strike from Lucas Payne, sealing a 1-0 victory at previously unbeaten Greenways to continue their remarkable run. Hot on their heels, AFC Greenwich Borough recorded the day’s biggest win — a thumping 5-0 triumph at Bridon Ropes. Oghosa Williams scored twice, Wilfred Evans, Bradley Ryan and Stefan Payne also netting as Borough made it ten straight victories to keep the pressure on at the top.
SE Dons are up to third after a solid 3-1 win at Lydd Town, with Joedon Gugas-Cowin and Billy Crook (twice) on target before Harry Byrne’s late penalty for the hosts. Further down the table, Halls AFC grabbed a vital three points in a high-scoring clash at Chessington & Hook, running out 5-2 winners thanks to a brace from Sam Bayford and further goals from Sam Doyle, Junior Amusan and Kenny Dadds. The result lifts Halls to 13th, while Chessington remain rooted at the bottom.
Croydon closed the gap on the top six after a 3-2 win over Lordswood, with Alfie Eldridge’s double and Cameron Macmillan’s strike doing the job before a late fightback from the visitors. FC Elmstead edged out Staplehurst Monarchs 2-1 courtesy of two goals from Fraser Page, while Welling Town claimed a narrow 1-0 win away at Lewisham Borough thanks to Fred Aikon’s first-half effort.
Banstead Athletic and SC Thamesmead shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller that had everything — penalties, drama, and a stoppage-time equaliser. Ricky Johnson and Jensen Allchurch were among the goals for Banstead, while Jamie Williams, Wale Odedoyin, and James Ryan replied for Thamesmead. Meanwhile, Sheppey Sports battled to a 1-1 draw with fifth-placed Tooting Bec, with Callum Peck and Baye Ndiaye trading goals.
Another wild afternoon in the First Division — 34 goals, late winners, and Rochester still unstoppable at the top.
