SE Dons, Rochester United and Lordswood all maintained their 100% starts to the season, making up the early top three in the First Division after an action-packed Matchweek 2.

There were no stalemates anywhere in the division — just winners and losers — with AFC Greenwich Borough, Lydd Town, FC Elmstead, Staplehurst Monarchs and Halls also collecting maximum points.

It’s been a tough week off the pitch for SE Dons, but inspired by heartbreak, they produced a ruthless display to beat Croydon 4-1 in Chatham. Aaron Watson and Zak Ansah each scored twice for the Dons, with Cameron Macmillan grabbing a consolation for the visitors.

Rochester United were equally convincing, easing past debutants Banstead Athletic 3-0 at Rede Court Road. Golden Boot winner Mack Reilly struck twice before Lucas Payne settled the contest midway through the second half.

Lordswood had to dig deep to take three points from Tooting Bec, eventually winning 2-1. Lenny Atherton put them ahead shortly after the break, Anthony Ogbanufe levelled for Bec, but Sam Bailey’s late penalty proved decisive.

AFC Greenwich Borough are up and running with a 3-1 victory over Sheppey Sports. Stefan Payne opened the scoring before seeing red in the second half, but by then Boro were 3-0 up thanks to further strikes from Oliver Godziemski and Tomi Obilana. Declan Kama pulled one back for Sheppey, but the visitors couldn’t make their extra man count.

FC Elmstead ran out 3-0 winners at home to Welling Town. Alfie Sanders struck from the spot in the first half, with Jamie Fearn adding two more late on.

In Dartford, Halls AFC overcame Lewisham Borough 4-2 in a lively affair. Sam Doyle starred for Halls, while Zack Manning and Muraino Banjoko joined him on the scoresheet.

The first half was electric at the Masher Brothers Stadium, where Lydd Town edged SC Thamesmead 3-2. An own goal plus efforts from Oscar Weight and Sammy Lane did the damage, with Lewis Cann and Ryan Solan replying for the hosts.

At the Recreation Ground, Staplehurst Monarchs snatched all three points at the death against Bridon Ropes. Just as it looked like the league’s first goalless draw was on the cards, Bradley Webb struck deep into stoppage time to move the Monarchs into an early play-off spot.
