It’s getting tight at the top of the First Division table after the leaders lost and their closest rivals picked up a point.

It was a second defeat in a row for Forest Hill Park who have now no longer have the destination of the league title in their own hands.

An early Temi Alaka goal put them ahead at FC Elmstead but replies from Rob Myles and Jason Dawson meant that the points went to Brehn Chidley’s side.

Soul Tower Hamlets and Faversham Strike Force played out a goalless game and as a result are the nearest challengers for the top spot, with Faversham having the advantage due to their two games in hand.

A bad week got worse for Canterbury City as they lost 4-0 at Lewisham Borough while Rochester United are making a late charge to the play-offs, which was aided by their 2-0 win over Tooting Bec.

At the bottom end of the table Meridian VP are confirmed to finish bottom following their loss at Welling Town. Harry Mark’s last minute winner for the Boots earned them 3 points which gives them a chance of closing in on Greenways and guaranteeing survival.

Elsewhere, SC Thamesmead and Sheppey Sports drew 2-2 and there were no goals between Bridon Ropes and Halls AFC.
