Saturday 6 December
PREMIER DIVISION
Chislehurst Glebe 5-1 Kennington
Holmesdale 3-4 Hollands & Blair
Hythe Town 0-4 Phoenix Sports
Rusthall A-A Corinthian
Sutton Athletic P-P Bearsted
Thanks to the FA Vase and the bad weather we were whittled down to just three completed Premier Division fixtures on Saturday – but the games that did survive certainly kept the goals flowing, producing a hefty 17 between them. Chislehurst Glebe, Hollands & Blair and Phoenix Sports all took full advantage to bag important wins.
Glebe snapped their five-game winless run in emphatic fashion, smashing five past Kennington to haul themselves out of the relegation zone. Elliott Wenham set the tone early before Khavarn Williams struck either side of the break. Jamie Philpot and Frankie Sawyer added late polish as Glebe put on their strongest showing in weeks.
Hollands & Blair extended their winning streak to four with a wild seven-goal classic at Oakley Road. Kane Rowland and George Goodwin gave Blair a cushion before Malachi Hudson hit back with a quickfire double. Duane Ofori-Acheampong restored control after the restart, and although Callum Keeble threatened a Holmesdale comeback, Ofori-Acheampong’s late second sealed a breathless victory.
Hythe slipped into the bottom two after a tough afternoon against a Phoenix Sports side rediscovering their spark. Jake Goodman headed the opener before a rapid Jamarie Brissett brace after half-time put the game beyond doubt. Tyrese Agbontaen added a stoppage-time fourth to end Phoenix’s own five-game barren spell in style.
Rusthall’s clash with Corinthian was abandoned at half time due to floodlight failure — a brutal blow for the Rustics, who were 2-0 up and eyeing a move towards the chasing pack.
A waterlogged pitch put paid to proceedings at Lower Road, with Sutton’s meeting with Bearsted called off.
