Saturday 10th January
PREMIER DIVISION
Faversham Strike Force v Corinthian
Hollands & Blair v Sutton Athletic
Holmesdale v Erith & Belvedere
Hythe Town v Punjab United
Rusthall v Kennington
Snodland Town v Fisher
Stansfeld v Whitstable Town
Tunbridge Wells v Phoenix Sports
Storm Goretti might have other ideas, but on paper at least, Saturday promises a full Premier Division programme – with plenty on the line at both ends of the table.
If the pitches survive the recent punishment, it’s a big afternoon for the sides scrapping to stay afloat. Bottom club Hythe Town welcome Punjab United knowing they desperately need a lift. Hythe haven’t won in 11 league outings, while Punjab arrive a point and a place outside the play-offs. If this one beats the weather, the pressure is squarely on the hosts.
Just above them, Stansfeld face arguably the toughest task of the day as they host leaders Whitstable Town. The sides played out a chaotic 3–3 draw earlier in the season, but Whitstable now sit eight points clear at the summit and are unbeaten in 13 league matches. Stansfeld need points; Whitstable look like they collect them for fun.
Elsewhere, there’s plenty of intrigue if the rain eases. Holmesdale put their prized fifth place on the line against Erith & Belvedere, while Tunbridge Wells and Phoenix Sports meet in what should be a tight mid-table contest – assuming the Culverden pitch holds up.
Third-placed Rusthall remain unbeaten at home and will fancy their chances against Kennington, while Snodland Town v Fisher sees two sides level on 30 points, both eyeing a push into the top five. Something has to give.
The safest bets to beat Storm Goretti are the two matches on 3G – and they’re worth tuning in for. Faversham Strike Force and Corinthian are both glancing nervously over their shoulders, making this a huge clash in the survival race. Meanwhile, the form side in the division, Hollands & Blair, take on Sutton Athletic. Blair have won six on the bounce and a seventh would see them end the evening firmly in the top half.
Whether we get eight games, two games, or none at all remains to be seen. But if the football does happen, it’s shaping up to be a Saturday with real consequences across the Premier Division. Just check before you travel!
