Jamie Philpot headed the league leaders in front early on but second half goals from Mannny Adetokunbo and James Miles helped Welling to an unlikely victory.
Sheppey United are now top of the table thanks to a 1-0 win at Lordswood.
With the game heading towards a rare goalless affair Helge Orome popped up with an 89th minute winner to send the Ites top.
Tunbridge Wells were 3-2 winners at home to Erith Town – despite being 2-0 down at the hour mark.
Tolu Jonah and Michael Power scored the goals for The Dockers before efforts from James Nurden, Euan Sahadow and Matt Gething meant that the points stayed at The Culverden.
