Premier Division – 27th July

Our first day of the P&Co. SCEFL Premier Division season and first day on Football Web Pages has passed smoothly. We had 30 goals in the 10 games, 2 home sides won and 4 matches went to the away sides.

Title favourites Faversham Town claimed the biggest win of the day when beating Glebe 4-0 at the Aquatherm Stadium. Kieron Campbell scored the first goal of the SCEFL season to give Faversham an early lead, while Tashi-Jay Kwayie, an own goal and Stefan Payne completed the rout.

Newly-promoted Larkfield & New Hythe won 2-1 at Rusthall in their first game at Step 5. Ben Davisson and Chibueze Innocent put the Larks two-up before the half-hour mark, with Jack Kirby pulling one back for the hosts.

Bradley Schafer and Jake Embury scored for Lordswood in a 2-1 win at last season’s play-off finalists Corinthian. Elias Ahmed scored twice in added time as Sutton Athletic came from 3-1 down to draw at home to Whitstable Town. Harvey Smith’s two second half goals looked like giving Whitstable the points.

Erith & Belvedere returned to the league with a 2-2 draw at Snodland Town. Todd Brand and a Stanley Oldfield penalty saw the Snods lead twice but the Deres hit back through Tommy Whitnell and an Alfie Eldridge penalty.

Lewis Heywood-Oriogun’s double earned Holmesdale a point in a 2-2 draw at Hollands & Blair, while Jack Mahon struck six minutes into added time as Stansfeld draw 1-1 at Bearsted.

Jacob Feasey and Siji Akinlusi scored in Tunbridge Wells’ 2-0 win at Kennington, and VCD Athletic beat Lydd Town 1-0 at home thanks to a Charlie Heatley goal. Punjab United won 1-0 at Fisher with Jack Hopkins nodding home in the second half.
