Here is how the SCEFL website reported the action from this day back in 2015….
Phoenix Sports had a fairly comfortable win at Greenwich Borough. After a goal-less first half the League leaders went 1-0 up through a 54th minute Yacine Gnahore strike. Aaron Jeffery made it 2-0 on 65 minutes before Mohammed Eisa pulled one back for Borough. Jeffery made certain of the points with his 79th minute penalty conversion. Borough drop back to 5th place.
Erith & Belvedere stay 2nd despite losing at home to Tunbridge Wells. Tom Davey put the visitors in front in the 25th minute then, in the second half, Paul Booth doubled in the 74th minute. The Wells regain 4th spot.
Ashford United move to within a point of 2nd place after a narrow win at Corinthian. Nuts & Bolts top scorer Stuart Zanone put them in front after 9 minutes but Marcus Evans levelled for the Hoops 3 minutes later and the half ended honours even at 1-1. Zanone doubled his and Ashford’s tally on the hour mark then Gary Mickelborough made it 1-3 after 75 minutes. In the final minute Harvey McMorrow scored a second for the Hoops but by then it was too late and Nuts & Bolts took all three points. Corinthian remain in 7th place.
Beckenham Town drop a place to 6th after losing at Canterbury City. Rob Lawrence scored the only goal of the game just after the hour mark. City remain in 10th place.
Cray Valley PM stay in 8th place despite coming from behind to win at home to Erith Town. The Dockers led at half time thanks to a Richard Morgan 17th minute strike then after the break Alwayne Jones scored a brace on 62 and 76 minutes to give all the points to the Millers. The Dockers stay planted to the bottom of the table.
Sevenoaks Town and Rochester United fought out a thrilling 7 goal game at Greatness Park today. The Spartans went ahead after Jamie Waddington hit the target in the 3rd minute. Danny Powell levelled just before the half hour mark and the half ended 1-1. Regan Payne then hit a brace in the 53rd and 61st minutes for Rochester before Danny Hockton pulled a goal back for the Oaks in the 80th minute. A Rochester own goal levelled the game at 3-3 in the 90th minute but, in time added at the end, Steve Earl nipped in for the Spartans winning goal. Both clubs stay as they were in 9th and 18th places respectively.
Woodstock Sports drop a place to 12th after drawing at home to Lingfield who hang on to their 16th place. It was the Lingers Chris Shanny who opened the scoring after 25 minutes and the first half ended 0-1. Bryan Bell came to Sports’ rescue in the 75th minute.
Lordswood drop a place to 12th after losing at home to Crowborough Athletic who jump up to 11th. Michael Hurcombe scored the only first half goal in the 35th minute to put the Lords in front. After the break, Jason Barton scored from the spot to level the game then Scott Treleaven hit the winner one minute later.
And finally, Holmesdale came across a very fired up Deal Town at the Charles Sports Ground and suffered a heavy defeat as a result. Grant Bagley opened the scoring after 10 minutes then Connor Coyne made it 2-0 just before the half-hour mark. Charlie Walsh added the Deal 3rd goal after 39 minutes and the half time cuppa was sweeter for Deal than it was for the Dalers. Shaun Mason made it 4-0 in the 72nd minute and Bagley added the 5th two minutes later. The final word for Deal came from their top marksman Ryan Philpott. The clubs swap places in the table with Deal now 14th and the Dalers 15th.
