New Arrivals at Sheppey United
Sheppey United, Assistant Manager Marcel Nimani, has given an update on events at the Club, ahead of the friendly tournament that kicks off next week.
“Ernie and the coaching staff welcomed back the team last Saturday as we began the preparation for the upcoming friendly tournament.
“Further training sessions were held on Tuesday evening and Saturday morning again.
“We have had a near enough full squad return, and the likes of Billy Bennet, Danny Leonard, Harrison Carnegie and others are eagerly waiting for the Tuesdays night clash with Punjab.
“Whilst it is very early to talk about recruitment and departures, we have added a few new faces to squad which includes a couple of youngsters from the Island, as well as three experienced Bostik League Players in Ben Wilson (Ramsgate) Danny Smith (Cray Valley) – both having won this league already with Sevenoaks and Cray Valley, as well as Helge Orome from Whytelefe.
“I am sure as the tournament goes on and pre season begins, a few players will come and go but I am confident the nucleons of the squad will remain.
“I am also keen to let the fans know that pre-season has also been finalised and we have added some exciting friendlies which include: Sittingbourne FC, Faversham Town FC, Margate FC, Larkfield & New Hythe FC, Maidstone United FC and Ashford United FC. All games to be played in July.
“I am excited to see the fans back in look forward to the games ahead.
“Up the Ites!”
