The hosts got off to the perfect start when Max Williams scored in just the 3rd minute however the game was soon level again when Alvin Turyatemba equalised.

On the half hour mark Chris Hubbard put Thamesmead ahead once more with a stunning volley with the Acre holding the 2-1 lead through to the break.

It stayed that way until the final 10 minutes of the match when Merrick Simms scored for SC Thamesmead and then in the dying stages he did so again, giving his side a 4-1 win and a place at the top of the First Division table.
