Medway Tournament – Rochester Utd 1-5 Chatham Town
Medway Tournament
Tuesday 18th May
Rochester United 1 – 5 Chatham Town
In Game One of the Medway end of season tournament Premier Division Chatham Town beat First Division Rochester United 5-1.
A short match summery from the hosts.
Lapses of concentration were punished by Chatham who proved why they were fighting for promotion in the division above last year. The Chats took a first half lead with two well taken goals from Dan Bradshaw followed by a neat Matt Bodkin finish which saw the visitors leading 3-0 at half time.
Both sides brought on fresh legs for the second half with the Spartans making 8 changes. Andy Pugh got his name on the score sheet twice to put the visitors five in front but the spartans showed fighting spirit and finally got a late consolation when Charlie Dale reacted quickly to a defensive error and looped the ball into the back of the net.
