2024/25 Season P&Co. SCEFL Manager of the Month

March 2025

Premier Division

Jamie Coyle – Whitstable Town

First Division

George and Ian Batten – Sheppey Sports

Whitstable Town played 8 games during an unbeaten March, winning 7 of those games including 2 in the FA Vase on a journey which will now end at Wembley.

Jamie Coyle’s side kicked off the month with an FA Vase victory over Whitchurch Alport and ended it infront of nearly 3,000 of their fans by gaining a semi-final first leg win over Hartpury University.

In the league the Oysters played 6 times, which included wins against VCD Athletic, Lordswood, Erith & Belvedere, Holmesdale and Larkfield & New Hythe, moving them into a position where a play-off finish is in their own hands.

March was an incredibly tricky month off the field for George and Ian Batten but their Sheppey Sports team done them proud on it by picking up 13 points from a possible 15 – a haul which has moved them to the brink of a play-off place.

Wins against Lewisham Borough, Welling Town, Rochester United and Clapton Community were added to with a draw against leaders Forest Hill Park as the top scorers in the Division set-up an exciting end to the 2024/25 campaign.

February 2025

Premier Division

Jamie Coyle – Whitstable Town

First Division

James Parsons – Tooting Bec

Whitstable Town played 6 games during February and they won them all, with the Oystermen now competing for honours on three fronts.

Jamie Coyle’s side kicked off the month with an FA Vase victory over Fleet Town before reeling off League wins against Fisher, Tunbridge Wells, Snodland Town and Bearsted – which has put them on the brink of a play-off place.

To top off a great few weeks, Whitstable also have a Kent Senior Trophy Final to look forward to after setting it up with a February win over Stansfeld in the last four.

February was an excellent month for Tooting Bec, where in they league they beat Soul Tower Hamlets, then thrashed Greenways before gaining a draw with long time league leaders Canterbury City.

James Parsons side were winners in the Surrey FA Premier Cup during the month plus have also lined up a London Senior Trophy Final appearance thanks to a last four win over Bridon Ropes. They are now firmly on target to regain that trophy they superbly won last year.

Congratulations to our winners, the awards are on the way!

January 2025

Premier Division

AJ Ashanike – Fisher

First Division

Antonio Gonnella – Forest Hill Park

In a month of few matches Fisher managed to use the all-weather surfaces in the SCEFL to their advantage and take to the field 4 times – twice at home and twice on the road.

The Fish didn’t see defeat in any of those games and their win against Larkfield & New Hythe, plus well-earned draw at Faversham Town have helped maintain their top 3 position in the table.

Those results have helped Ajay Ashanike to the January Manager of the Month award, which is very much deserved for a strong few weeks in an excellent season for Fisher.

For a third time this season Antonio Gonnella wins the Manager of the Month Award, with an unbeaten January for Forest Hill Park seeing them progress in two Cup competitions as well as having their title winning hopes strengthened thanks to a couple of good results.

A league win at home to Canterbury City has seen Forest Hill join City at the top of the table with Gonnella’s side having a juicy-looking 4 games in hand.

Another great result came at Erith & Belvedere, where Forest Hill reached the Quarter Finals of the Challenge Cup thanks to a 2-0 success.

They are competing for silverware on multiple fronts and with this third award now heading their way, a new trophy cabinet may be required at the Ladywell Arena!

2024/25 Season P&Co. SCEFL Manager of the Month

December 2024

Premier Division

Ross Baker and Danny Joy – VCD Athletic

First Division

Antonio Gonnella – Forest Hill Park

The bad weather limited the games played during December but VCD Athletic did manage to play 4 times, and with 3 wins and a draw Ross Baker and Danny Joy are our Manager of the Month winners.

League victories against Erith & Belvedere and Stansfeld plus a 5-5 draw at Holmesdale kept them top of the table while an FA Vase win against Windsor & Eton saw them through to the last 32 of the competition ahead of the fourth round this weekend. It is the second time the duo have won this award this season.

Antonio Gonnella won this award in October when boss at Croydon now two months later he wins it again – this time as Forest Hill Park gaffer. Antonio oversaw 3 wins from their 3 games played during December, with victories coming against Meridian VP, Sheppey Sports and his old side Croydon.

This saw Forest Hill move level at the top of the table with Canterbury City setting us up nicely for an exciting second half of the season in the First Division.

November 2024

Premier Division

Tommy Warrilow – Faversham Town

First Division

George Batten and Ian Batten – Sheppey Sports

With 5 wins and a draw from 6 games played, Faversham Town’s Tommy Warrilow is the Premier Division Manager of the Month for November. The Lilywhites beat Punjab United and Snodland Town in the league before drawing with leaders VCD Athletic on the final day. In the Cup competitions an FA Vase win against Billingshurst was followed by Challenge Cup success over Faversham Strike Force and a Kent Senior Trophy win against Tunbridge Wells.

A perfect November sees Sheppey Sports duo George and Ian Batten awarded the First Division Manager of the Month. Wins over Tooting Bec, Meridian VP, Faversham Strikeforce and Clapton Community mean that Sheppey climbed from 14th to 8th place in the table positioning them nicely to challenge for a play-off place.

October 2024

Premier Division

Jimmy Anderson – Rusthall

First Division

Antonio Gonnella – Croydon

With 3 wins and a draw from their 4 league games during October, Rusthall’s impressive results see Jimmy Anderson win the Manager of the Month Award. The Rustics scored 15 goals in those 4 games and picked up wins against Snodland Town, Lordswood and Holmesdale. The only league game that they didn’t collect 3 points from was at Stansfeld – and they somehow drew that one 6-6 despite being 4-1 down at the break!

With Croydon now 5 points clear at the top of the table Antonio Gonnella wins the First Division Manager of the Month Award. The Trams won all 3 league games during October, with victories against Soul Tower Hamlets, Sheppey Sports and Greenways all helping them open up that big advantage at the top.

September 2024

Premier Division

Ross Baker and Danny Joy – VCD Athletic

First Division

Mark Dacey – Forest Hill Park

16 from 18 points gained in an unbeaten month saw VCD Athletic’s Ross Baker and Danny Joy claim the award for September. Our Premier Division league leaders, who are currently 7 points clear at the top of the table also picked up an impressive FA Vase win away at Chipstead.

Forest Hill Park were only denied a 100% winning September by a last minute leveller from Tooting Bec, but 13 points gained out of a possible 15 in the league shot them to the top of the table.

Mark Dacey’s side would do anything to gain silverware and they closed the month with a London Senior Trophy win, plus even kicked off October with a Cup victory over Tunbridge Wells too!

August 2024

Premier Division

Nicky Southall – Lordswood

First Division

Stuart Benfield – Faversham Strike Force

Lordswood made it through 3 rounds of the FA Cup during August, eventually setting up a tie against Sittingbourne that will be shown on BBC. In the league they followed on from an opening day success with 2 further wins from 3 games and look well placed to compete for promotion this season. An FA Vase victory against Binfield completed a great month for Nicky Southall’s side.

August was an unbeaten month for Faversham Strike Force, who have an FA Vase victory and a very strong start to their league campaign to celebrate from their 6 games played. Their 3 wins and 2 draws in the First Division saw them score 13 goals and concede only once – especially impressive as two of those games came against sides that join Strikeforce in the top 4 in the table.

Congratulations to both winners!
