League Allocations – 2022/23
The FA have revealed the National League System (NLS) club allocations for Steps 3-6, subject to FA Council ratification.
For us it will see a 20 team Premier Division and a First Division season containing 18 sides.
Promotion for Sheppey United and Chatham Town has seen them join the Isthmian League South East Division where they have replaced Phoenix Sports and Whitstable Town, who rejoin us after 7 and 4 seasons away respectively.
As expected Lordswood have been reprieved from relegation.
Tower Hamlets depart for the Eastern Counties at Step 6 and Crowborough Athletic move laterally to the Southern Combination League. We wish them both well.
Stansfeld and Sutton Athletic take their place at Step 5 for the first time in their history.
The First Division drops to 18 teams but welcomes 2 new sides.
Bermondsey Town and AFC Whyteleafe both join from outside the National League System. We look forward to finding out more about each of them before the 2022/23 campaign gets underway.
Meridian VP and Forest Hill Park have been reprieved from relegation – a last minute penalty in the final minute of the final game of the season proving extremely vital for Forest Hill.
Chessington & Hook United drop to Step 7 and Westside move laterally back into the Combined Counties League. We wish them both well going forward.
These League Allocations still need FA Council ratification and need to withstand appeal before being confirmed at the SCEFL AGM on 18th June 2022.
