Kennington Boss in Charity Run

Kennington boss, Dan Scorer is donning his running shoes to give under privileged children the chance to own an England shirt, ahead of this summer’s Euro’s.

Starting on Thursday, April 1, Scorer will run five km’s, five days a week, for five weeks.

He said: “Anyone that knows me, will know that I am football mad and dedicate a lot of my time to providing children and adults with the opportunity to play football within the local community.

“As well as my commitment to football, I am a PE Teacher at a primary school in Ashford. I’m very fortunate to work with some incredible children, from a variety of challenging backgrounds.

“During each of the lockdowns in the past year, I have found running a challenging yet rewarding outlet for my own mental and physical health. Therefore, I have now decided to use this outlet as opportunity to help others.

“With the European Championships coming up in June, I will be the first to make sure I have my England shirt ready for that first game against Croatia on Sunday, 13th June.

“Unfortunately, for many children and their families, purchasing a football shirt is not always a possibility.

“That‘s why I’m hoping to raise £1000 to purchase as many England shirts as possible, for those that in normal circumstances would only dream of pulling on that three lions shirt.

“As well as donating towards this well worthy cause, if you know of a child or a family that you feel would be deserving of an England shirt, please get in touch.”
