Holmesdale Managemant look ahead to the new season
With the new season surely drawing ever closer the Management Team at Holmesdale have taken time out to share their expectations for the new campaign while also reflecting on a great, albeit frustrating, season for the club last time around.
Holmesdale recently revealed their retained squad and in the next week are expected to name some new signings, so what better time to hear from the Management set-up at the First Division side.
Lee Roots: First Team Manager
“Last season was an incredible achievement from all of the players, staff, committee & everyone involved in the running of the club. From game 1 the players were excellent and our stats did not lie all the way till the last game, as we showed a fantastic return for all of our hard work put in. Having the season cut short was of course frustrating, but at the time it was totally the correct decision that needed to be made, and really one that only the uneducated would have argued with. We certainly would have gone on & secured a deserved promotion & possible league title, and we haven’t changed our approach for this pre season in anyway post that.
“We now have new challenges to accomplish this season within the league division and cups, and the targets & goals we have set ahead are something we are very much prepared & ready for & looking forward too.
“I am extremely happy with the players who we have retained & have committed themselves once again to the club for the season, this will again be key to all of our success ahead.
I am over the moon with the new player signings we have signed & added to the squad for the new season. All of the player targets I had on my list have either now committed & signed to the club, or are in the final process of signing, which speaks absolute volumes for not only the work we have done, but how we carried ourselves last season as a club.
I’m delighted to be able to give a collection of youth players at the club a full promotion this season from our U23s setup into the first team squad. This is something I feel is important as manager, to look & work with & then bleed through the right youth talent & the right characters we have at the club up into the first team setup. Without a doubt our youth players & set up with have at the club is one of the best in the south east region.
The first team squad we have assembled for the new season is even hungrier & stronger than last years squad. I couldn’t be happier at this stage & I’m now very much looking forward to the season ahead & seeing just exactly what this special group can produce.”
Mike Parker: Assistant Manager
“Reflecting & looking back on last season, the overall feeling of pride I have for the players, management team and committee has to be first and foremost.
Having the season cut short was gutting and being denied promotion hurt. It can’t be argued we deserved to go up and even had a good chance of the winning the league title! However, in these strange times we have regrouped and are looking forward to the season ahead.
We have a assembled a very talented & motivated squad, and I expect us to be competing at even higher levels than we did the whole of last season.”
Tuner Bayram: Head Coach
“Firstly I would like to wish everyone reading this well and safe wishes. Last seasons achievements on & off the pitch as club was truly incredible. All of our hard work as staff & the work the players delivered certainly payed off. Unfortunately the season was ended short due to the pandemic before we has a chance to conclude the season. Having come in into the first team management team last season after a couple of league games, and now reflecting on our season as a whole… I feel we had a great year in both adult sides, first team & u23s and we now find ourselves in a position of strength where we can continue to grow the club and players. Very excited about the squad we have & we will look to attempt to do even greater things this season. Everyone is fully focused and ready to accomplish the goals set.
As a management team & as a club, & with the players we now have on board for the new season, I can’t wait to get going.”
Andy Constable: Player/Coach
“We were robbed of promotion and a possible league title last season and that doesn’t sit well with me at all. There is a clear goal to achieve the same levels we hit last season and we have the perfect motive as a squad to replicate what happened.
I’m very excited to start my own personal transition into the management team, as well as playing my part massively on the pitch, in what promises to be another very exciting season.
We have a young, very strong and extremely talented squad that I can’t wait to see what we are capable of achieving together.”
Platini Tshipamba: VEO Analysis Coach
“Im delighted to be given the opportunity to join the first team management staff for the new season.
I have worked at Holmesdale with our youth set up with many years & ages for the last 4 seasons.
Most recently working with our U18’s, U19’s & last season with the U23’s squad.
I am really excited to get down to work with the first team management staff & all the players.”
Adam Porter: GK Coach
“Last season was a great success for the club for many reasons on & off the pitch. From re building the whole first team squad from scratch in pre season, to then going on to achieve the stats we did really is a true testament to everyone involved.
After the lockdown break we’ve had everyone is now fully ready for football to restart & were all very excited for the new season ahead.”
