It was Groundhop weekend in the SCEFL with several games having staggered kick off times as we once again welcomed crowds from up and down the country.

Friday saw two games and two draws.

The Groundhop game between Lordswood and Corinthian finished 1-1, with James Jeffrey’s 80th minute penalty levelling a Jamie Billings opener.

It was 2-2 at Foxbury where Stansfeld came from behind to draw with Glebe. Michael Adepoju headed Glebe in front and Malachi Morris doubled their lead just before the break. In the second half, Dan Parkinson converted a penalty and Ollie Wright netted from close range to earn Stansfeld a share of the spoils.

On Saturday it was the leaders Faversham Town who hosted the hoppers, and they remain at the top following a 5-2 success against Hollands & Blair.

Stefan Payne scored twice for the hosts, with Kieron Campbell, Ashley Miller and Ollie Gray also on target. Dean Grant claimed a late double for Blair in front of a crowd of 563.

Fisher are up to second place with Manny Shoderu, Jojo Kinzonzi and Thomas Ngegba all finding the net against Tunbridge Wells and Erith Town occupy 5th, after they won 2-0 at Holmesdale.

Sutton drew with VCD Athletic and a late Andrew Dythe leveller earned Punjab United a point at Rusthall.

Saturday’s action closed out on the coast and a tight match between Whitstable Town and Bearsted.

Whitstable took the honours with Josh Oliver and Harvey Brown scoring in a 2-1 win, watched on by a crowd of 682

On Sunday, Lydd Town beat Snodland Town 2-0 with Deal Town winning by the same scoreline against Kennington.
