Glebe continue 2021/22 squad announcements

Harry Hudson continues to reveal more of the players that will make up his 2021/ 22 Glebe FC squad.

Following on from the naming of Jamie Philpot, Helge Orome, Aaron Watson, Ryan King-Elliot and Matt Parsons last week they then revealed that  Sheikh Ceesay, Antone Douglas, Dami Olorunnisomo, Lauris Chin, Jamie McGeoghegan and Dom Duval will join them as they challenge for one of the two potential promotion places on offer.

On Wednesday Evening they also announced the signings of Freddie Nyhus, Ainsley Everett and Charlie Penny.

The retaining of Jamie Philpot was the first news to be revealed by the Chislehurst-based side.

Jamie, was the top scorer for Glebe in both of the last 2 disturbed campaigns since joining the club as Gary Alexander’s first signing in September 2019.

He has performed well in the early pre-season games this month too and claimed a hat-trick in a comfortable win last week against Epsom & Ewell.

Helge Orome is new to Glebe but needs no introduction to Kent’s non league football fans, and is very familiar to boss Hudson as well from his time as Captain at their previous club Whyteleafe.

The midfielder can also count Sheppey United, Cray Wanderers, Lordswood and Phoenix Sports among his former clubs.

Also joining from Whyteleafe is striker Aaron Watson.

He has been a prolific goal scorer for ‘The Leafe’ and Westfield plus high-profile Sunday side ‘Lambeth All Stars’ and he could be the man to shoot Glebe towards a promotion winning place.

Ryan King-Elliot is an attacking midfield talent that is used to terrorising defences in the division above. He can count Cray Valley and Greenwich Borough as former clubs while is also well known for appearing for popular YouTube Sunday league side ‘SE Dons’.

Another ‘SE Don’ to join Glebe is Matt Parsons, a man that knows this part of Chislehurst very well.

The former Crystal Palace player spent some time with Glebe two seasons ago, following spells at Chatham Town and Cray Valley while in the past year has had the odd run-out for Faversham Town and Corinthian-Casuals.

He is sure to link-up well with ‘Kingy’ down the left flank with the duo both excellent additions to what is looking like a very strong line-up.

Goalkeeper Sheikh Ceesay plus defenders Antone Douglas, Dami Olorunnisomo and Jamie McGeoghegan follow the gaffer, and others, from Whyteleafe whilst Dom Duval is a talented youngster with plenty of potential – some say he also looks like Bradley Dack!

Lauris Chin has spent the last two years at Phoenix Sports where his goals and assists from wide positions made him a firm fan favourite. Naturally, before that, he spent time with Harry at Whyteleafe and has also played for Sevenoaks Town and Croydon.

Freddie Nyhus has come through the youth ranks at Glebe, while Ainsley Everett is a midfielder that played at Phoenix Sports last year. Striker Charlie Penny started off at Millwall and has since had spells at Welling United and Dulwich Hamlet among others.

Glebe are looking good! Their season kicks off on July 31st at Bearsted.
