Today’s 7 First Division games produced 7 winners with late goals preventing draws and leaving us with 3 sides with a 100% record after 2 games played.

We were also given 34 goals in total, an incredible amount from just 7 games with an average coming in at almost 5 per match.

Six of those goals came at the London Hire Ground, with Kennington getting them all, as the Dan Scorer’s side took their place back at the top of the table thanks to a comfortable victory over Sutton Athletic.

Callum Peck scored a hat-trick for the ‘Ton’ with Tom Scorer, Craig Calvert and Gary Lockyer sharing the other half of a total that sees the leaders make it 10 goals in their 2 games so far.

Holmesdale were also big scorers today as they raced into a 4-1 lead at the break, before going on to win 5-2 at home to Lydd Town.

Ola Rabiu and Nathan Palmer both netted but Shameek Farrell was the real star with his hat-trick coming on his debut at Oakley Road and meaning Dale Horton’s double for the Lydders were just mere consolation.

The game of the day was at the Jockey Farm Stadium with two of the certain promotion contenders providing us with a 5-goal thriller.

Rusthall took an early lead through Jefferson Aibangbee but then saw their advantage reversed by quickfire strikes from Jack Sims and Andy Somo.

It looked like the Rustics had earned a draw when Lorenzo Cuozzo netted a late leveller but Sims had other ideas and deep into injury time he got the winner, giving his side a precious and vitally important 3 points.

Rochester United won for the second time in 2 games as they beat season debutants SC Thamesmead 4-2 at Rede Court Road.

Jack Carthy and Lucas Payne both netted doubles for the Spartans while Mayowa Olufeko also grabbed a brace for the defeated ‘Acre’.

FC Elmstead were 3-1 winners at Bridon Ropes as they moved on to 4 points from their 2 games played so far this season.

Jerome Walker scored twice last week and he repeated that feat again today with Marcus Cassius sealing the points for Elmstead in the final minute of the game.

Greenways also scored in the last minute but their goal was even more vital as it was the difference between them and Kent Football United at the Efes Stadium.

Andy Pierce scored an early opener for the Greens who then saw the hosts keeper sent off soon after making it look like this would be a stroll in the park for the visitors.

Kent Football United didn’t see things that way though and stayed in the game, eventually levelling througha Callum Flynn free-kick.

It wasn’t to be for KFU though as just as it looked like the points would be shared Pierce popped up again, to score the winner giving Greenways the perfect start to the season from their 2 games played.

Snodland Town won in similar style too.

Forest Hill Park had taken a first half lead at Potyn’s but a Dan Ashton leveller and late Joe Sands winner meant that all 3 points stayed at home with the ‘Town’.
