Ten FA Vase games went ahead today and 5 SCEFL sides have made it through to the next round, where they will join Deal Town and Erith Town plus potentially Bearsted and Lordswood – who each had their match postponed due to the bad weather.
HOLMESDALE caused an upset on FA Vase first round day as they beat fellow SCEFL side Corinthian 6-4 at Oakley Road. Manny Oshinowo opened the scoring for the Dalers in the tenth minute, with Allesio Akaboufo adding a second before Brendan Davey pulled one back. Sam Bayford made it 3-1 to the hosts before Sam Bewick responded. Callum Keeble scored a fourth and Oshinowo added his second. As the goalfest continued, Charlie Clover scored twice for Corinthian either side of Wale Odedoyin netting for Tony Beckingham’s side.
Second-half goals from Wayne Bushell, Lea Dawson and AJ Dythe saw Punjab United beat Lydd 3-1 in another all-Premier Division tie while Snodland Town beat Stansfeld 2-0 courtesy of goals from Ashley Sains and Francis Babalola. Larkfield & New Hythe suffered last minute heartbreak as Ali Fofanah’s 90th-minute goal saw Glebe win 1-0. High-flying Fisher went down 3-1 at home to Wembley and Sutton Athletic saw their run end with a 3-0 defeat to visiting Holyport.
