We started the weekend with 17 sides still in the competition and end it with 6 teams still hopeful of a charge towards Wembley in the FA Vase.

Stansfeld are the only of our First Division teams remaining after they beat Staplehurst Monarchs 3-1 at Foxbury today to progress into the Second Round.

Early goals from Sam Smith and Macey Malyon set them on their way, and when Smith added his second just before the break, this tie was done.

Another all-SCEFL game came at the Charles Ground and went the way of Deal Town thanks to a ruthless first half display.

Ben Chapman scored twice, Alfie Foster and Kane Smith once as Deal Town led 4-0 at the break and held that scoreline through to the end against Kennington.

Sheppey United were also 4-0 winners.

Taurean Roberts hit a brace as the Islanders comfortably got past a Forest Hill Park side that played much of the game with 10 men.

The least surprising news of the day was that Jamie Philpot got himself on the scoresheet, as Glebe won 3-1 away at Holmer Green.

Sam Johnson got the first for The Foxes, and Philpot the next two, with the Glebe striker now past the 20 mark or goals scored in all competitions.

Tunbridge Wells have their name in the hat for Monday’s draw after a 3-2 success at Hilltop FC.

Matt Gething scored twice in a busy first half, Regan Corke added the other.

Chatham Town were the top scorers as Dan Bradshaw claimed a hat-trick against Alresford.

Bradshaws 3 were added to by a Jack Evans double and Matt Bodkin opener as the Chats hit their visitors for 6 at The Bauvill.

Two games went to penalties following 1-1 draw’s today but neither went the way of our sides as Snodland Town and Holmesdale exited the competition.

The Dale were unfortunate losers from spot kicks against Athletic Newham while Snodland came up short at Pagham FC.
