FA Vase Fifth Round

2024/25 Isuzu FA Vase Fifth Round

VCD Athletic 0-1 Hartpury University

Erith & Belvedere 2-2 Daventry Town
(E&B win 4-2 on pens)

Whitstable Town 2-1 Fleet Town

Two SCEFL sides have made it through to Monday’s Quarter Final draw of the FA Vase following an action packed afternoon of Fifth Round drama.

Erith & Belvedere once again held their nerve from the spot while Whitstable Town saw off Fleet Town in standard time at the Belmont.

It wasn’t to be for VCD Athletic though, he lost to a very late goal at home to Hartpury University.

Whitstable’s two goals came early in the second half against their Combined Counties opponents. Jayden Boulton was afforded space down the left wing and he took full advantage, advancing to the corner of the penalty area before shooting low beyond the visiting keeper.

The Oystermen extended their advantage on 56 minutes when a right-wing cross was half-cleared and the onrushing Mikey Dalton drilled home an unstoppable right-foot finish via the inside of the post.

Fleet pulled one back and piled the pressure on late but Whitstable held on and will now eagerly await Monday’s draw.

Erith & Belvedere won via a penalty shoot-out for the 4th time on this FA Vase run, with Charlie Cottrell once again proving to be the spot kick king in the Deres goal.

The game finished 2-2 in regulation time with Freddie Baker and Nathan Palmer scoring for our SCEFL side, who were denied a standard win thanks to a last-gasp equaliser from the visitors. That meant we went to penalties, where once again Erith & Belvedere held their nerve best.

The Quarter Final draw will be made on Monday 3rd February at 3.15pm.
