Congratulations to the 8 SCEFL teams that have today progressed through to the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup.
Kennington picked up their first win ever in the competition, in just their second game of it – and it was a big one. Callum Peck scored two of Kennington’s five at home to Horley Town setting up a tie against Little Common in 2 weeks time at Homelands.
Dan Bradshaw is the top scorer in this years FA Cup right now as he hit 4 of Chatham Town’s 6 against Eastbourne United. Jack Evans started the goalfest at The Bauvill while Luke Rooney added the cherry on the cake.
In the all-SCEFL games, Harry Goodger’s second half hat-trick earned Hollands & Blair a win against Holmesdale, Kane Butler scored a double for K Sports against Rusthall and James Jeffrey also scored twice, as Sheppey United won at Tower Hamlets.
There was also a first ever FA Cup success for Punjab United, who beat Mile Oak 2-0 while Deal Town scored a last minute winner to get past a resilient Southall.
Erith Town have also made it through to the next phase as they were 2-0 victors at Sheerwater, Harry Gamble and Michael Power with the goals for The Dockers.
Erith & Belvedere and Lordswood have replays to look forward to this week after their games finished level while Bearsted saw their match postponed due to the bad weather.
Tuesday 10th August
FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round
Banstead Athletic 2-2 Bearsted
Knaphill 2-2 Lordswood
(Knaphill win 4-3 on pens)
Tuesday night saw Bearsted finally visit Banstead Athletic for their FA Cup tie, but after a 2-2 draw they will have to do it again next week. Harrison Hatfull and Sam Stace got the goals for the Bears, who were twice behind but now still in the running to host Burgess Hill Town in the next round.
Lordswood’s FA Cup journey is over, and in the unluckiest of ways. The Lords went out on penalties after their game finished 2-2, with Daniel Smith and Zak Jakubowski scoring for our SCEFL side to send the tie into extra time and beyond.

FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round Replay
Erith & Belvedere 3-1 Tooting & Mitcham (aet)
Erith & Belvedere have knocked Tooting & Mitcham out of the FA Cup after a 3-1 extra time win at Park View Road.
The Deres took the lead on 51 minutes through Tyler Anderson-Parr but their Step 4 opponents responded through Dan Williams.
The game went into the added half hour where Anderson-Parr scored again and Nassim Dukali sealed the tie in the final minutes.
The incredible win, in front of a crowd of 180, has set up a match with AFC Croydon in the next round.
