Division One Cup – 2024/25
The Division One Cup – 2024/25 Season
A supplementary competition to increase matches for teams in Division One
Saturday 10th May
Final
Clapton Community 3-1 Forest Hill Park
Clapton Community beat Forest Hill Park in the Division One Cup Final in front of a huge crowd of 1242 at Barking FC.
Early goals from Joel Akuwudike and Fred Taylor were added to just before the break by top Scorer Taylor again to give Forest Hill Park a mountain to climb in the second half.
To be fair to them they really gave it a go. One effort was cleared off the line and Clapton keeper Jack Francis made a fine save from a long-range Bradley Ryan shot.
Following a handball in the box Georgi Steeds pulled one back from the spot it wasn’t to be added to and Clapton held on for the win.
Captain Francis held the trophy aloft in front of the noisy travelling contingent, who will now celebrate their debut SCEFL success late into the night.
For Forest Hill, they will be back next year to try and finally get their hands on some elusive silverware. Officially now they can be called the SE Dons and maybe it will be better for them to have this new name carved into the history books of glory rather than that of the much-loved club they have taken over.
