We will be saying goodbye to a few players who are James Tonkin, Jack Paxman, Sammy Gibson, Troy Howard and Sam Wilson. Unfortunately, James, Sammy and Jack have been unable to commit due to work and personal reasons but leave with our greatest thanks for their efforts at the club. Tonks and Pax especially have played a key role in the development of the club and have both achieved well over 150 appearances each. Sam Wilson has been struggling with an ongoing knee injury, which has limited his involvement since February and has now decided to retire from this level of football. Troy has been offered an exciting opportunity to join Margate FC in the Isthmian Premier Division and goes with the club’s best wishes.
We are really pleased to announce the signing of Jack Hanson for the 2022/23 season.
Local boy Jack, 20, joins the club after being involved in our recent pre-season games.
The club are pleased to announce the signing of Lewis Stevens-Toomey for the 2022/23 season.
25-year-old defender Lewis has been on trial with the club during pre-season and has impressed in recent friendlies against Gillingham, Dover and Corinthian.
The club are pleased to announce the signing of Riley Alford for the 2022/23 season.
Riley, 27, finished last season at Hythe Town where he was their top goal scorer with 10 goals in the Isthmian South East.
Previous to his spell at Hythe, Riley had been a prolific goal scorer in the Kent County League, as well as playing for the league’s representative team.
The club are delighted to announce the signing of Euan Sahadow for the 2022/23 season.
22-year-old winger Sahadow enjoyed a loan spell from Folkestone Invicta at the Hoops in the 2017/18 season. Since then he has appeared for Chatham, Lordswood and Tunbridge Wells.
A knee injury cut short Euan’s last campaign but since leaving the Hoops he has scored an impressive 29 goals in 65 starts at SCEFL level.
Now back fully fit Euan is looking to make a big impact back at the club with his exciting attacking play.
The club are pleased to announce that goalkeeper Henry Newcombe has joined the Hoops for the 2022/23 season.
Henry ,24, enjoyed a loan spell with the club back in the 2015/16 season and has since played for Wycombe, Canvey Island, Margate, Folkestone, Chatham and most recently Hythe Town where he made over 30 appearances in Isthmian South East League last season.
Henry who grew up in Deal will be joining his hometown club as we look to build on our success in the 2022/23 season.
The Hoops Premier Division season gets underway on Saturday 30th July with Deal hosting Glebe.
