Croydon 4-3 Athletic Newham

Croydon produced a stunning second half comeback to win their London Senior Trophy tie against Athletic Newham 4-3.

It was a first game at the National Sports Centre for the Trams and it looked like it would be a losing start at their new home when the visitors raced into a deserved 3-0 lead at the break.

Croydon never gave up though and JP Rylah pulled a first back before Jarquan Springer’s double made the game all square.

Then with a minute left to go Martin Smith scored the winner giving his side the unlikely victory and putting them through to a Round Two tie at Peckham Town.

Great value for money for the large crowd safely in attendance.
