Blair secure Star Meadow deal

Invictus Sports Group (ISG) were delighted to sign a lease agreement this week with Hollands & Blair to become a principal partner at Star Meadow Sports Complex.

With a provisional deal already in place, the formalities were agreed on Tuesday night with Blair chairman Paul Piggott signing a 10-year lease deal.

The contract ensures the security of the football club, who will now continue to play and train in the heart of Gillingham. All teams from under 13s up to the first team will play their matches at the facility, with all teams at all age groups also being able to train at the site on Darland Avenue.

With the building works continuing to be on schedule in ME7, Blair are looking at a moving-in date being in the early weeks of 2023.

ISG’s Rich Radbourne said: “Our aim has always been to secure the future of Hollands & Blair Football Club; nevertheless Blair’s status at the new facility has been a talking point in local football with many incorrect rumours attached along the way. This long-term agreement with the club puts these whispers to bed.

“ISG’s relationship with the club’s hierarchy is extremely strong and we have developed a plan together for on and off the pitch. Our vision is clear: to use our fantastic new facility to support Hollands & Blair and Soccer Elite FA in creating leading youth development programmes, developing footballers and people that Medway and the surrounding areas can be proud of.”
