AFC Croydon, Balham and Beckenham Town depart SCEFL

The re-organisation of the Non League Pyramid has seen AFC Croydon, Balham and Beckenham Town depart the SCEFL for pastures new.

With the borders shifting at Step 5 those 3 sides will line-up in the Combined Counties Premier Division South next season.

We wish them all the best of luck in their new league and look forward to seeing how they do against new and lesser known opposition.

For Balham the opposition is not so unfamiliar though. They were only with us for the one curtailed campaign after moving sideways from the Combined Counties last August. Their short time with us was very impressive though as they sat in the top 6 when the decision was made to cut the 2021/22 season short.

Beckenham Town were one place higher at that stage but just one year before they were top before cruelly being robbed of the chance to seal promotion. Ever-present since day one of the SCEFL, Becks have been towards the top end of the table in most years and are sure to be a force to be reckoned with when they arrive at their new home.

AFC Croydon joined SCEFL in 2015 following a promotion winning campaign from the Combined Counties Division One. They now returned to that league, this time at Step 5, and alongside the other two sides, we wish them all the best.
