5 Substitute Rule Clarification

For all Step 5 and 6 fixtures during the 2022/23 season teams will be able to name and use 5 substitutes.

This can be done from up to 10 occurrences – The usual 3 maximum opportunities is not applicable for this season.

This will be monitored throughout the Season.

It should also be noted that there is a new requirement that all substitutes now need to warm up in the opposite half to the technical area assistant referee – the same as in the Isthmian League.

The Leagues committee decided on this action following requests over the past few years.
